For example, last year South Carolina didn’t open its parking lots until 2 ½ hours before kickoff, prohibited tents, asked large gatherings of people to disperse and discouraged the use of any grills, coolers or buffet-style spreads. This year, South Carolina is returning to its pre-2020 policies.
“In this extraordinarily difficult moment for the people of Louisiana, we want to do our small part by assisting Tulane with the game this weekend,” Oklahoma President Joseph Harroz Jr. said. “While we regret that it’s necessary for us to host it, we will welcome the Tulane family this Saturday with open arms and heavy hearts. We hope this act is one small way that we can help alleviate some of the stress the university is currently enduring.”
All four players were depth pieces during training camp. Archibong, an undrafted rookie out of Temple, had eight tackles, a sack, a tackle for a loss and a quarterback hit in the preseason. Harrington, an undrafted rookie out of Stanford, had one catch for 8 yards. And Lacy, who spent the first three years of his career with the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys, had four catches for 33 yards.
“He’s not where he needs to be right now, but he is improving and the only thing that we can do is keep grinding with that rehab,” Nagy said. “He’s unbelievable in the meetings. I mean, he’s the same as he’s always been. Physically we’ve got to just keep taking it day by day, and I’m not going to put a timeline on that.”

Báez — who has not hit consistently since his July 30 trade from the Cubs, got injured shortly after the deal and made a brutal baserunning gaffe during his brief stay in Queens — was vilified on Twitter, where it was pointed out that even New York Yankees icon Derek Jeter was booed at Yankee Stadium in 2004. Jeter said he deserved it, which is the proper answer most athletes give when they’re underperforming and hearing it from fans, whether they believe it or not.
“There’s a lot of things that we weigh when we’re making decisions — fit on the team, overall talent, salary cap,” Flores said. “But I think when [general manager Chris Grier], myself, the coaching staff are talking about players, we’re always trying to do what’s best for Miami Dolphins and the organization. But there’s a lot of variables there: We want a group that’s tough, that’s smart, that’s competitive, that loves to play, that’s team-first.”
French veteran Gilles Simon, who was disqualified from the U.S. Open on Friday for “medical reasons,” confirmed in an interview with L’Equipe that he was removed because he hadn’t been vaccinated. Simon’s coach, Etienne Laforgue, tested positive for the coronavirus after arriving in New York, and Simon was disqualified because he was deemed a “close contact.”
Dalton, 33, signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Bears in March. Six weeks later, the Bears drafted another quarterback, Justin Fields, as their top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, Bears head coach Matt Nagy has tapped Dalton as his starting quarterback for the season opener Sept. 12.
The Cubs haven’t been shy in their player usage. They have used a franchise-record 63 players this season, surpassing the 56 they used in 2013. In the process, 38 players have made their Cubs debut in 2021, another franchise record, topping the 34 in 2013. Before 2013, the record was 30 Cubs debuts in 1902.
