Traditionally, Republican and Democrat days at the state fair mark the kickoff of election season in odd-numbered years. But due to pandemic delays affecting the census and the drawing of new congressional boundaries, the usual March primary has been pushed back to June 28. Because of that the slate of GOP primary candidates for several offices, including governor, has yet to solidify.
Denise Huguelet was one of three passengers in one of the vehicles. She sustained life-threatening injuries after being hit by gunfire and later died at a hospital. The two other passengers, a 67-year-old woman and 67-year-old man, both of Homer Glen, were uninjured as well as the driver of the car, a 67-year-old man from Orland Park, according to a news release Wednesday night.
At the time of the killing, the Oldses were engaged in a bitter divorce, and Dean Olds had moved out of the home and was living in a rental apartment downtown. After the slaying, Olds, a once-successful intellectual property attorney who never was suspected of physically carrying out the murder, was nonetheless found responsible for his ex-wife’s death. He moved back into the home after the slaying, and in 1996, a Cook County judge concluded that Olds had squandered the couple’s assets, once believed to be as much as $6 million, and the judge also stripped Olds of his share of the home.
A Chicago native, Lyons, 53, began her TV career as a photographer, live truck operator and producer for KWQC-TV and WHO-TV in Iowa after graduating from Iowa State University. She joined WGN-TV in 1993, rising from executive producer of the morning and midday newscasts to assistant news director in 2008. Lyons became news director in 2014, overseeing a significant expansion in WGN’s daily news programming.
“There are going to be a lot of people probably rushing to want to get a booster again, similar to how it was at the beginning,” Arwady said during an online question-and-answer session. “So please take this next month, if you’re not vaccinated, to get it, because I don’t want people in this whole scramble.”

Paloian, of Elmwood Park, admitted in a plea agreement earlier this year that he used “a number of agents” to recruit gamblers for his illegal business in Chicago, Melrose Park and Elmwood Park. He took in more than $2,000 on some days, and used a foreign website to handle bets and bookkeeping, according to his plea.

In denying the order after a four-day hearing, Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman said that according to the 27-year-old San Diego woman’s testimony, Bauer followed her boundaries when she set them, and he couldn’t know the boundaries she didn’t express to him.
