The Sox came out of their funk in 1990, rebuilding with young talent like Jack McDowell, Robin Ventura and a couple of rookies who came up together that August — slugger Frank Thomas and pitcher Alex Fernandez. After initially moving kickoff up seven hours, the Saints announced the subsequent decision Friday night to cancel the game came after consultation with city officials, Gov. John Bel Edwards, the National Weather Service, the Department of Homeland Security and the NFL.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson, who was admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Aug. 21 with COVID-19, has moved to a rehabilitation center as his symptoms abate, while his wife, Jacqueline, has been moved into the intensive care unit at the hospital, according to a statement from Jonathan Jackson, one of the couple’s five children.
