The strike at Mondelez’s bakery in the Marquette Park neighborhood, where about 500 employees produce Nabisco cookies and crackerssuch as Wheat Thins and Nutter Butters, follows similar strikes by Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union employees in Oregon, Virginia and Colorado.
Predatory fish — which build up methylmercury by eating other fish — include: all species of black bass and gar, striped bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, walleye, sauger, saugeye, flathead catfish, muskellunge and northern pike. Larger fish tend to harbor the most methylmercury.
In an Aug. 18 letter to Bethany Lutheran School Principal Erin Dunwell, ISBE Superintendent Carmen Ayala said officials had verified the Naperville private school was not complying with the mask mandate, resulting in ISBE “removing your school’s status as a recognized nonpublic school, effective immediately.”
Former Minnesota Twins DH Nelson Cruz, who has 25 career home runs in 107 games against the White Sox, was the Rays’ biggest acquisition in July. In 2019 Cruz hit three homers in a game against Sox starter Lucas Giolito with distances of 430, 473 and 433 feet. Giolito is set to start Friday’s game. Cruz is hitting .202 with seven home runs in 22 games since joining the Rays. The Sox could’ve signed him last offseason, but instead Cruz re-signed with the Twins.
The incident occurred at about 2 p.m. at the intersection of Torrence Avenue and Sibley Boulevard, and a preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle left the roadway and struck two people at the bus stop, then continued into an adjacent parking lot and struck a third person, according to police.

Asked why Kipp was suspended and whether the timing had anything to do with the ongoing lifeguard investigation, the Park District in a statement Thursday said the district “operates independently of the Office of Inspector General and has absolutely no influence on policies and decisions made by the IG.”
