Javunte Wheeler, 26, known as Squeak and part of a Chicago hip-hop group called Pivot Gang, was shot to death Monday in the 5000 block of West Saint Paul Avenue. His uncle, Darion Hood, who was 27, was also killed in the shooting, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

But whichever was more important to “MamaJo,” as she’s been known for decades, was irrelevant. In Wilmette, Moser and his wife turned a tidy profit on the 5,438-square-foot home, which they purchased in 2018 for $2.5 million. The man was identified as Arion J. McNeary, 22, of the 0-99 block of North Hamlin Blvd., Chicago, according to Natalia Derevyanny, spokesperson for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. He was shot in his arm and the bullet then went into his chest, Drerevyanny said, adding that his death was ruled a homicide.
