José Abreu won the AL MVP Award a year ago today. He followed it up with another productive season for the Chicago White Sox. Here’s a look at some of the numbers that stood out in 2021.

Abreu became the 11th player in team history with 700 RBIs in his career after driving in three runs on May 12 against the Twins. He is one of five Sox players with the career combo of 200-plus home runs and 700-plus RBIs, joining Thomas, Konerko, Baines and Fisk. Abreu sits seventh on the team’s all-time list with 788 RBIs.
