Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson announced Monday morning the release of tickets for the general public to attend next week’s mayoral inauguration ceremony. At the ceremony, Mayor-elect Johnson will be sworn in as the 57th Mayor of Chicago, alongside City of Chicago legislators and other executive officers. The ceremony will cap off a full schedule of inauguration events taking place over the weekend.

“The people of Chicago have always been at the heart of this campaign and this transition — and we’re excited to see that reflected in next week’s festivities,” said Jessica Angus, Transition Director. “We look forward to the opportunity for the public to experience the inauguration ceremony and we want to make sure everyone knows that this administration will always be open and accessible to the people, from day one until its very last day.”

Information for the public: tickets are free and can be reserved using this link. Tickets are first come, first served until the limit is reached.

Inauguration Ceremony

Time: 10:30 a.m. on May 15th

Location: Credit Union 1 Arena (UIC Pavilion), 525 S. Racine Ave, Chicago, IL 60607

Doors will open at 8:30 AM on the morning of the ceremony. The ceremony will begin promptly at 10:30 AM. Please allow time to go through security in order to enter the arena. All guests are strongly encouraged to arrive early.
