You’re probably expecting to see me joking around with my buddy Jake from State Farm. Well, unfortunately, he has COVID-19. Some say he got it after hanging out with me unmasked, thinking I was fully vaccinated. Classic, Jake! I never told him I was vaccinated. I just told him I was immunized, which is true, if the word “immunized” means “consulted with a podcast host about important medical decisions that impact the people around you.”

Why he left: The founder and owner of the Bears, “Papa Bear” first stepped away after the 1929 season to focus on ownership duties but returned to the head coaching role in the middle of the Great Depression. After the outbreak of World War II, Halas re-elinsted in the Navy and was awarded a Bronze Star. After leaving with the rank of captain, Halas returned to the sidelines in 1946. He took a brief break from coaching in 1956-7 before his fourth and final stint before retiring from coaching.
For years we’ve heard DePaul was a sleeping giant, only to discover it’s still in hibernation. But with the relaxation of transfer rules allowing athletes to play immediately, Stubblefield didn’t have to wait on a new crop of freshmen to try to change the program. Among the six newcomers are graduate transfer Brandon Johnson, a 6-foot-8 forward from Minnesota; Tyon Grant-Foster, a 6-7 guard from Kansas; and Jalen Terry, a 6-foot guard from Oregon.

“We look at this as a hitting department and a pitching department more than just a one-man show,” Hoyer said, “and as with all of these jobs, the hitting coach job, for example, has gotten so much more complicated as you add so much data. So you’re thinking about things in terms of not just swing mechanics, but also game planning and things like that. You want to make sure we’re acting as a team.
