“We’re going to have experienced starters in Lucas (Giolito) and Lance (Lynn), Dallas (Keuchel) and (Dylan) Cease, guys who have already had full years under their belts,” Sox general manager Rick Hahn said Tuesday at the GM Meetings at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. “So we’re not going to be looking at (Kopech) as coming in and giving us 200 (innings) next year. We’re going to try to get him as consistently strong as possible throughout the entire season, because he was a little stronger in the first half (of 2021) than the second.
“I talked to the trainers today, and it’s going be maybe up to two weeks, which is good,” interim coach Derek King said after practice Wednesday. “It did look a lot worse than (after) we assessed it. I mean, we’re going to miss him, but at least it’s only two weeks.”
White, the No. 7 pick in the 2019 draft, averaged 15.1 points and 4.8 assists last season, starting 54 of his 69 games. His presence should help provide some instant offense with the second unit, on which Alex Caruso and Derrick Jones Jr. have done a good job so far, particularly on the defensive end.

Why he left: The founder and owner of the Bears, “Papa Bear” first stepped away after the 1929 season to focus on ownership duties but returned to the head coaching role in the middle of the Great Depression. After the outbreak of World War II, Halas re-elinsted in the Navy and was awarded a Bronze Star. After leaving with the rank of captain, Halas returned to the sidelines in 1946. He took a brief break from coaching in 1956-7 before his fourth and final stint before retiring from coaching.
