In cricket, a man dressed in full cricket whites slipped past stewards and ran onto the field before hurling a ball down the pitch and then colliding with an England player during the third test against India at The Oval in September. The man, a self-ascribed YouTube prankster, was arrested on suspicion of assault.
Jenkins knew Allen well, both on the field and in the clubhouse. They first met at Class A Williamsport, Pa., in 1962 after Jenkins, then 19, signed with the Phillies out of Canada. They were briefly teammates in 1963 at Triple-A Little Rock, Ark., where the Phillies sent Allen to break the color barrier in the state. The team failed to adequately handle the situation, forcing Allen to endure constant racism and threats that left an impact on him.
“We really feel like he was improving as the games went by for him individually, our team, our offense,” coach Matt Nagy said. “There are still places where we can certainly improve. As a staff, we felt like we were really getting a good feel for where he was, and then he gets injured. So then for him to come back against a big division opponent and rival, I know that he’s excited for it.”
“We’re better than that,” Donovan said. “And we need to be better than that. I don’t know when or who is coming back on what dates. My feeling is right now, we’re going into Miami with the same group, and if we don’t compete at a higher level, we’re going to get the same result we got here tonight. … It’s not to say we’re going to win, but we can do a better job than we did tonight.”

“It was kind of hard at the beginning, but then I started realizing it was something out of my control,” Jenkins said. “Mentally, I got past that and said, ‘Look, if I can’t do this physically, I’m going to get better mentally in the playbook and schemes and games against people we’re playing with and just keep on doing that.’ And that’s how I got over it mentally.”
“It was a little bit of a struggle, just trying to adjust to everything,” Westbrook said. “But once we get into the swing of things we have no choice but to adapt. We have no other choice. Missing Azzi was hard, now missing Paige is going to be really difficult for us. But we’re going to be just fine, it’s something we have to do, we have no choice.”
“I think after that power play, just kind of took the wind out of our sails,” King said. “The way we were going, we just didn’t have that extra jam to maybe have a pushback. You know, empty-netter, they score another one. That’s how it happens.
According to an NFL source, the league determined after review that Quinn deserved a sack on the first play from scrimmage for the Cardinals when quarterback Kyler Murray fumbled the snap. Because Murray recovered and attempted a football play, the decision was made to give Quinn a sack for a tackle behind the line of scrimmage that resulted in a 3-yard loss.
“Just watch film and just try to see the game from a different perspective,” he said. “Seeing it from the sideline, I definitely think you do, so you can kind of just think of different scenarios and kind of see what the defense is doing. So it was kind of cool just seeing it from a different perspective for a long time.”
