The U.S. women split $862,500 for making the roster and $2.53 million for winning the 2019 World Cup, which came to $147,500 per player. If they had performed equivalently to the men, the bonus for each under their deal would have been $37,500. The women also receive payments for a post-World Cup tour that they split: $350,000 per game if they won, $300,000 if they finished second and $250,000 if they were third.
In only 13 days, the Bulls had more active players enter the COVID-19 protocol than any other team in the league: Coby White (Dec. 1), Javonte Green (Dec. 3), DeRozan (Dec. 5), Matt Thomas (Tuesday), Derrick Jones Jr. (Thursday), Ayo Dosunmu and Stanley Johnson (Saturday), LaVine and Tony Brown Jr. (Sunday) and Alize Johnson (Monday). Nikola Vučević also previously spent 11 days in isolation after testing positive Nov. 11.
The Heat have not reported any players other than Martin entering protocols, although testing will continue on the trip beyond Monday night’s game against the Cavaliers, with the trip continuing with games against the Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons.
“We had this hope and sense that the vaccine was going to prevent everything,” Cole said. “Apparently, it’s just not happening. That might have to do with the transmissibility of variants, including delta and omicron, but in general, the vaccine is not preventing reinfection.”

“Some guys aren’t used to this, and he’s one of them,” Meyer said. “But he’s fantastic and we have a fantastic relationship. Marvin looked at me. He walked by [Saturday] when I saw something on TV, like a heated argument, and he goes, ‘I guess we’re not allowed to talk anymore, are we,’ and started laughing about it. So there’s nothing.”
“That’s a tough spot for Tev,” Fields said. “I know he wanted to play great today. The sack he gave up, I just told him, ‘Look, it’s your first game. Prime time, Sunday night. You’re a rookie, first-ever playing time right now. Of course you’re going to make mistakes. You have to go in there knowing you’re going to make mistakes and just learn from them and make sure they don’t happen again.’
