“(Eberflus’) resume speaks for itself,” Morrow said. “It’s in the tape, right? You see what he did in Indy, with the turnovers they had, the defense that they had together, and the staff they put together here. … In the offseason, I’ll go back and watch defenses and stuff like that, so I was familiar with some of his schemes.”
“Mentally, I wasn’t there a lot,” Carter said of his time with the Bulls. “The coaching change was crazy. I couldn’t get used to anyone. I didn’t feel comfortable. It was an older team. A lot of guys were veterans. It was the business side of it, too, dudes trying to get paid. It was a little weird situation over there, but it definitely built character for me. I got an understanding of what the NBA really is.”

“I don’t know that I totally buy in 100 percent that we don’t ever get rattled,” Self said. “But I do think, as Jalen said, our league (the Big 12) has prepared us in the way you play so many close games. “Charlie’s been in college for so long, half my young guys, my seventh, eighth graders and freshmen and sophomores had no idea who Charlie was,” Gardner said. “I’m like, ‘Yo, he’s got banners. He’s a Gatorade Player of the Year. He was Mr. Basketball.’ ”
