Despite giving up some height when matched against Antetokounmpo or Lopez, the 6-10, 260-pound Vučević found success against the Bucks earlier in the season, averaging 20 points in the first three meetings. In those performances, Vučević balanced his shooting — popping out for midrange jumpers and 3-pointers and working to the rim for layups and post-ups.
The Bulls lost all four meetings with the Bucks this season, including 28- and 21-point blowouts in the last two games. The reigning NBA champions are led by two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who hasn’t lost a game to the Bulls since Dec. 27, 2017.
Illinois has nine operating retail sportsbooks, seven of which offer online sports betting. FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM, the three largest online sportsbooks in the U.S., are all partnered with downstate casinos. The amended law opened up the floodgates for the sportsbooks to woo Chicago-area customers, precipitating a seemingly nonstop blitz of TV ads throughout the month.
Located in an elevator building, the unit has two bathrooms, 11-foot ceilings, polished concrete floors throughout, an open kitchen, a primary en-suite bedroom with a walk-in closet, and a formal dining area. The couple first listed the condo in April 2021 for $445,000 and then cut their asking price to $435,000 in June and then to $415,000 in August before finding a buyer.
I had an interesting conversation with a general manager several years ago and he made an excellent point. Let’s say, for the sake of this conversation, the Bears are on the clock and they have a pressing need at wide receiver and offensive line but they draft a defensive end. That would not fill either of the greatest needs on the roster. But the GM made the point that two years down the road, no one is going to be focused on whether at the time of the draft the Bears filled one of the two biggest needs. At that point, the question would be did the Bears select a player that has been able to help them? If the defensive end is a player moving forward, it will be viewed as a good pick. If a wide receiver is drafted and he fizzles out in the first two years, it will be a poor pick.
“We’ve been really aggressive moving our infielders around early in the season, and so far we’ve been good,” said Green, who also serves as the Cubs infield coach. “But we’ve also been a little bit lucky. Stuff’s been going right at us and when it hasn’t, Nico makes plays like he did today.
“Not quite sure what tomorrow holds from a health standpoint. But I look forward to, ideally, that situation stabilizing, getting some guys back and in the meantime, fighting through and grinding through each day. Yes, we have lofty, long-term goals. Right now, it’s a matter of let’s get through the next few weeks.”
Robert’s two stolen bases came in handy in the bottom of the inning. With one out and runners on the corners, Jiménez grounded to short. The Mariners got the force at second, but Jiménez beat the throw to first. Robert scored on the play, stretching the lead to 3-1.
“If I was Mike Trout or Shohei Ohtani that get hit 15 times by one team, MLB would be suspending pitchers from North to South,” Contreras told the Tribune on Tuesday. “To protect players they have to do something about it. I can say that was the end of it, but that doesn’t mean (the Brewers are) going to stop going in on guys and hitting guys.”
“We would take a look at it and make some adjustments,” King said. “But me coming in here, not knowing the league, not knowing the players, not knowing their systems … I could’ve come in here and said we’re going to do a 1-3-1 neutral zone, we’re going to forecheck four guys and have one (defenseman) stand back in front of our net, or in the D-zone we’re going to play man-on-man or we’re just going to stand there and (everyone) play your quadrants. I could’ve done a lot of that.
