Recovery efforts have been suspended in the search for a man who disappeared in an Antioch-area lake, the Lake County sheriff’s office said Monday.
After searching in Lake Catherine for two days, divers were not successful in the recovery efforts for a Mount Prospect man who dove into the lake Saturday at around 3:50 p.m.
The man, 52, was on a pontoon boat being operated by his son when he dove into the water. He briefly resurfaced before going beneath the surface and was not seen again.
Divers used sonar to search the lake, which is about 30-feet deep where the man was last seen, but have not recovered his body.
Sheriff’s Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli said Monday the search has been suspended until authorities have more definitive information on the location of the man’s body.
