The Hawks announced Monday they interviewed Cubs assistant GM Jeff Greenberg for the position. The Cubs will have continuity among their minor-league coordinator positions with hitting coordinator Dustin Kelly (second season), coordinator of pitching development Casey Jacobson (third season), coordinator of pitching performance James Ogden (third season), catching coordinator and assistant field coordinator Mark Johnson (fourth season in role) and outfield and baserunning coordinator Doug Dascenzo (eighth season).

The premise of this bubble is simple: Keep those who passed multiple tests just to get access to the Olympics in, keep the rest of the world — and, hopefully, COVID-19 — out. “Last year was kind of weird,” Fields said. “Just me not starting the season as the starting quarterback, it was kind of a weird leadership role. Me and Andy (Dalton) would kind of switch off. But now that I am starting the season as a starting quarterback, I think I’ll be more comfortable playing that leader role. There’s no more, ‘Oh, he’s a rookie,’ this and that. It’s time now.”
