“The way they break it down, the diversity training we did, the meetings we have, the new HR people, what to look for, it’s almost like it’s OK to come out and say things. “I like this group,” Karnišovas said. “I like this group a lot. … Teams that are close by (in the standings) like Brooklyn, Milwaukee and Philly, they’ve had their group for two or three years at least, and we’ve had this group for three months. We’re still learning, we’re still adjusting and I like this group a lot. There’s a lot of games that we came back (in). We didn’t fold.”
The play: Hester scored 10 touchdowns against the Vikings in his career, more than any other team. In this game, a 34-31 Vikings win, Hester had a career-long 81-yard touchdown reception and an 89-yard punt return for a touchdown, tied for the longest of his career. The Vikings tried to punt away from Hester in the first quarter. But he ran it down for an over-the-shoulder catch at the 11-yard line and then broke to the right sideline, leaving three Vikings tacklers in his wake. In the fourth quarter, Bears quarterback Brian Griese launched a deep ball to Hester, who outran a defender to the end zone to tie it.
Indiana starters Xavier Johnson and Parker Stewart and reserves Tamar Bates, Michael Durr and Khristian Lander did not play for disciplinary reasons. Rob Phinisee also missed the game, his third straight, because of plantar fasciitis, leaving coach Mike Woodson with just seven available scholarship players.
Purdue: The Boilermakers have been the Big Ten’s highest-ranked team most of this season Now, after starting 1-2 in conference play, they finally have a share of the league lead. Purdue has gone 98-11 in its last 109 home games and this time did it with the kind of balanced attack it will need to make a deep NCAA Tournament run.

The Bulls are already staggering from a series of injuries beginning with Patrick Williams’ torn wrist ligaments at the start of the season. Caruso and Ball aren’t anticipated to return until late March, and fellow guards Zach LaVine (back spasms) and Coby White (groin) returned for the first time Monday after week-long injury absences.
