Coach Billy Donovan said Dosunmu cleared a series of concussion tests with the Bulls on Thursday, affording the guard time to practice in a five-on-five scrimmage with teammates the morning of the game. The Bulls received clearance from the league shortly before tipoff at the United Center, allowing Dosunmu to play.
“Her persistence and determination is on display on the world stage as she represents her country for the second time in the Olympic Games,” said Trish Betthauser, Stevenson High School director of athletics. “While at Stevenson, she was a remarkable student and athlete, impressing everyone with her athleticism and grit.”
Flores, who is Black, sued the NFL, three teams and others, claiming the league’s hiring practices for coaches and general managers is racist and that the league is “rife with racism” even as it publicly condemns it. More than 70% of the players in the NFL are non-white.
“We were notified that it was underway. We hadn’t heard about the allegations before that,” Whisler said. “We were asked not to in any way tamper, so we didn’t talk to players, etc. That investigation ran for as long as they wanted, we participated fully and never received (results). I still don’t know the full background of what was in those allegations and we didn’t receive recommendations from that.”

When it was go time, Shiffrin actually started well enough, reaching the initial check point in 12.66 seconds — ahead of Gut-Behrami’s pace. But from there, Shiffrin lost touch with the leader, losing hundredths, then tenths, of seconds along the way, before closing in 1 minute, 14.30 seconds, which was 0.79 behind Gut.
“The overall riding was incredible,” Donna Burton Carpenter, whose late husband, Jake, invented the modern-day snowboard and helped bring the sport to the mountain and into the mainstream, told The Associated Press in a phone interview. “I think, on some level, we were all rooting for Shaun today. He gave it his best shot and went out like a champion.”

Look, this isn’t about dragging Rocky back in front of a camera just to make him engage in some self-flagellation. Fans, parents, partners and the community need to hear that he supports a culture change, acknowledges the team’s past sins, has internalized the trauma from Beach’s perspective and can articulate his new level of understanding.
