“The first (technical) one, I tried really hard to get,” Underwood said. “Second one, I didn’t even deserve it. If you’re going to throw me out, come on, just let me earn it. I didn’t like some of the calls and I deserved the first one.”

“Last year during spring training, José Abreu approached me and he told me, ‘Whatever you need, just reach out to me and I’m here for you,’” Céspedes said. “That’s what I did. Every time that I needed something, I reached out to him and he gave me a lot of advice. That was great. That was really helpful for me.”
In Lake Forest, DeLeone paid $1.13 million for the nine-room house, which was built in 1910 and rehabbed down to the studs in 2014. The house has five full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, four en-suite bedrooms on the second floor with custom built-ins and a primary bedroom suite with a walk-in closet and a marble bathroom with a double vanity. “I tried to get him to hold onto pucks a little more, (but) the feedback’s all positive with this kid,” King said. “It’s a process here. This is not an easy league, obviously, because if it was I’d be still playing right now, but I’m not. It’s more or less, OK, here’s what we feel you’re doing.”

A day after the union made only small moves in response to management’s incremental proposal of a day earlier, MLB offered players only one change: Teams offered to increase the minimum salary from $570,500 to $640,000, up from their previous proposal of $630,000. The minimum would increase by an additional $10,000 each season during a five-year agreement. Teams withdrew their proposal for a tiered minimum, which players opposed.
“He’s been around for so long, he’s been on different teams, he’s played with different players, but the adjustment period of playing with a new team always takes a little bit of time,” Donovan said. “The terminology will take a little bit of time. He’s got to get that down because he’s very, very vocal.”
