Chris Hendriksen, 44, and his family — like many Cubs families — never miss an opening day. He is a Chicago native who lives in Cincinnati. Daniel was even in attendance when his mom Susy, 42, was pregnant with him.
“You don’t know how the game is going to change over time,” Heyward said. “It could happen quickly or not. But (the media) is an important element of the game, just for players to see. You guys have a workplace here too. Prior to the home run, Hoerner’s 93 consecutive games without a homer represented the fifth-longest current streak by an active position player.
Woods failed to make solid contact with his first shot: a 264-yard drive that faded behind a bunker on the right side of the fairway. His approach rolled off the front of the green, but he sank a 10-foot putt to save par, bringing another huge roar from the patrons.

“When I decide to hang it up when I feel like I can’t win anymore, then that will be it,” he said. “But I feel like I can still do it, and I feel like I still have the hands to do it, the body’s moving good enough. I’ve been in worse situations and played and won tournaments.”
The Milwaukee Brewers appear poised to repeat as the NL Central champs. Their rotation remains stacked, and manager Craig Counsell has multiple bullpen weapons. The St. Louis Cardinals can never be counted out, given their track record. Despite trading away talent to reduce payroll, the Reds still feature a few dangerous hitters, including Joey Votto, Jonathan India and Tyler Stephenson. Yes, the Pittsburgh Pirates are clearly rebuilding, but games aren’t won on paper.
