“I told myself, ‘You are only going to debut once,’” Banks said. “When I came out of the bullpen gate, I just told myself, ‘Deep breath. Breathe it in. Enjoy this moment.’ And I started to get a little emotional. I was like, ‘Keep it together. You’ve got to go perform.’
If you want to meet some White Sox legends in statue form, there’s Charles Comiskey, Minnie Minoso, Carlton Fisk, Billy Pierce, Harold Baines, Luis Aparicio, Nellie Fox, Frank Thomas and Paul Konerko on either side of the Fan Deck in center field. There’s also a big 2005 display to honor that World Series championship team outside Game 4.
“I mean, it sucks. It was not the outcome that I wanted. It’s always hard not to be available, whether you’re injured or whatnot. It’s hard to watch your guys go out there and fight without you but I believe in them without me just as much as I believe in them with me. I think we have as good of a chance as any to make a run to the championship, and I trust these guys to take care of it when I can’t be there on the court.”
“Sometimes it’s a little too much because there’s times you can shoot the puck, you’re in the house, you’re in a good position to put a puck on net or score, and then you’re looking for him. But according to the lawsuit, Heritage Auctions contacted Jostens on June 10, 2021, and was informed that their ring was a duplicate that had been stolen. Jostens, with the Cubs’ permission, had made a sample ring modeled after Zobrist’s with “distinguishing features” to differentiate it from the actual World Series rings distributed to the players, according to the lawsuit.
“Me and Crow are different, different styles. We’re kind of opposites, which is totally fine,” King said. “He’s voicing his opinion, and I take the info. Rob Cookson gives me info, and I take whatever I feel’s the right (thing to do). … I’ll either say, ‘Yeah, you know what, I don’t mind that, let’s go with it,’ or I’ll say, ‘No, I want to stick with this.’ We’re not butting heads or anything like that. It’s pretty relaxed.
