Smollett was sentenced last week to 30 months of probation, with the first 150 days to be served in Cook County Jail. In addition, he must pay a $25,000 fine as well as $120,106 in restitution — the amount of restitution the city sought to pay for its overtime costs investigating the case, minus the $10,000 Smollett forfeited to the city when his first case was dropped.
During banding, researchers can also carry out bird checkups — taking measurements, drawing blood samples and identifying disease — which can assist in tracking illnesses, including those passed between animals and humans. The collected information sets a baseline, sometimes reaching back decades, so researchers can identify trends and sudden changes, Anchor said.

The campaign, which began March 8, was coordinated by the sheriff’s office with the help of police from nearby towns, including Winter Haven, Haines City, Lake Wales and Auburndale. Also participating was the office of the state attorney 10th Judicial Circuit, members from the Florida Department of Children and Families and anti-human trafficking organizations One More Child, Heartland for Children and Selah Freedom of Sarasota.
He also bought jewelry, cuff links, women’s clothing, three Apple iPhones and accessories, aerial sightseeing trips and sky diving excursions, according to the indictment. Muñoz also transferred $16,000 to pay college tuition for an unidentified person, according to the charges.
Wilson previously donated some 30 million face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic to the city of Chicago, Cook County Jail, the Fraternal Order of Police and numerous area hospitals, among others. He’s also donated millions to individuals who lost their job during the pandemic and to more than 1,000 churches.
The all-electric building gets its electricity from rooftop solar panels, but its heat and cooling are powered by geothermal pipes, which are dug deep into the ground, to take advantage of relatively mild year-round temperatures of about 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The building, which does not have batteries to store energy, produces excess power during the day, when the sun is out, and pulls electricity from the grid at other times. Excess energy from the panels is used by the adjacent park.
