Each state is given a score out of 100 points that is calculated on the basis of 20 economic, legislative and cultural indicators of LGBTQ climate and inclusiveness in five categories: legal and nondiscrimination protections, youth and family support, political and religious attitudes, health access and safety, and work environment and employment. The categories assessed, for example, whether states had gender markers on birth certificates, the frequency of hate crimes, unemployment rates, anti-discrimination protections, and public health measures such as food security, wage gaps, mental wellness and access to gender-affirming medical care.

“Nick is a true pro and understands it, (he) is still very competitive,” Nagy said. “In all these meetings, it’s just really special to see how they’re trying to help Justin out and teach him how to play quarterback and how to watch film and study this offense. But also Justin helping them, too, with what he sees, so it’s been really good.”

“This pandemic isn’t over, and there are many, many people who have not been vaccinated yet,” the governor said today. “I talked a little bit about the fact that more than two-thirds of people in Illinois have been vaccinated, but that leaves a third and we are not at herd immunity, where we need to get to. So we’re doing everything at the state level to try to incentivize people to go get vaccinated. Many companies have offered incentives to people, to get them vaccinated. People are beginning to take us up on those. We have, as you know, tickets — free tickets, for people who want to go to Six Flags Great America. We have now a beer and a shot or a shot and a shot for the rest of us and lots of other incentives coming, including potentially a vaccine lottery.”

“Our hospitality industry has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic,” said state Rep. Mike Zalewski, a Riverside Democrat, and the new law “contains a number of initiatives designed to offer much-needed help, including an extension of cocktails to-go and ‘shot and a beer’ incentives to help Illinoisans get vaccinated and then visit their favorite establishment for a drink.”

The run came off the board, however, because of Kim’s quick throw in for an inning-ending double play on forceouts at third and second. The Cubs runners didn’t advance on the dropped fly ball, seemingly unable to determine whether it was a catch.

“I’ve simplified some things at the plate, kind of eliminating a leg kick,” Lamb said Tuesday. “Reason being with a few starts that I’ve had, if I start once a week, it’s so hard, especially at this level where the pitching’s at, to have a leg kick and consistently be on time for every pitch.
