“It adds a lot to the excitement, but the players have talked about it all year long, even when it was at whatever the percentage was, (the fans) were so loud, it felt like it was two, three times the number of people here,” La Russa said Friday. “I’m sure if we can give them something to get excited and be entertained by, it’ll be even better. “Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the district utilized alternative methods of instruction for students who required home or hospital-based instruction and other services, but these were not deemed as ‘remote instruction,’” CPS spokesman James Gherardi said Thursday, adding that the term was “specifically utilized during the pandemic to describe school or districtwide home-based instruction to ensure the safety of all students and staff.”
