Wednesday will see waves of showers scattered across Chicago alongside gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service.
“It certainly looks and feels like fall out there today,” meteorologist Brett Borchardt said.

Borchardt said winds will be “blustery,” reaching up to 30 to 35 miles per hour. But the rain will taper off in the afternoon after a mainly wet morning.
“By dinnertime we’re expecting it to be dry,” he said.

At night, temperatures will fall from the 60s as a cold front settles in, which may lead to patchy frosts Thursday morning.
Meteorologists reminded people to be careful on the roads.
“Anytime there’s wet roadways, it’s always a good idea to take it a little bit slower to leave a little bit of extra room between the car in front of you, especially with leaves on the roads and the pavements — that’s gonna be a little bit slippery, more slippery than you’d expect,” Borchardt said.
