A male suspect was placed into custody after a 31-year-old woman was shot in the head during a domestic-related incident Friday night in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 11:15 p.m., a woman was involved in an argument in the 1300 block of West 80th Street when the male she was arguing with pulled out a gun and fired shots, striking the victim to the head. The age of the shooter was not immediately provided by police.

The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where she was listed in fair condition. The shooter was taken into custody.
Detectives were investigating.
