Kyle Lynch made 15 tackles and Torey French had two TD catches in a win at 2022 Class 6A state quarterfinalist Crete-Monee.

The Bulldogs’ resolve was tested in a win at Hinsdale South as they erased a 10-point second-half deficit while making two goal-line stands.

Mac Jones completed 18 of 29 passes for 251 yards and five TDs in a win against DePaul College Prep.

Connor Sole blocked a punt and Christopher Chang recovered it for a touchdown in the Bears’ road win at Fremd.

7. Libertyville 1-0 (8)

Lineman Jake Richter excelled on both sides of the ball in a win against 2022 Class 6A state semifinalist Lemont.

8. Grayslake North 1-0 (7)

Dom Pulliam and Landon Dovel combined for 119 yards rushing on 19 carries in a win against Vernon Hills.

9. Lake Forest 1-0 (10)

The Scouts will be looking for their first 2-0 start in a full season since 2017 when they meet Carmel on Friday.

10. Stevenson 1-0 (NR)

Frank Costabile’s 263 yards and four TDs on 25 carries highlighted the Patriots’ 414-yard rushing attack in a win against Bradford/Reuther of Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Antioch junior running back Martin Cohen rushed for 295 yards and five touchdowns on just nine carries in a 42-13 win against Schaumburg, and Libertyville junior quarterback Quinn Schambow completed 17 of 21 passes for 221 yards and three touchdowns in a 22-13 win against Lemont.
