Three males were wounded, none seriously, in a shooting that took place Tuesday afternoon outside a Harvey fast food restaurant, according to police Chief Cameron Biddings.

Police responded at about 6 p.m. to a Popeyes restaurant at 147th and Halsted streets for a report of shots fired, he said Wednesday.

A witness directed officers to an address a few blocks away in the 14600 block of Peoria Street, where police found two males with gunshot wounds in the leg, Biddings said.

They were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but their injuries were not life-threatening, Biddings said.

He said officers recovered several spent shell casings in the restaurant parking lot.

Harvey police were notified a short time later by Calumet City police about a third person who was also wounded in the shooting and taken to Christ, Biddings said.

He said he did not know if that person had contacted Calumet City police or any other information about how the third victim sought medical treatment. He said that person’s injuries were also not life-threatening.

Biddings said Harvey detectives are reviewing evidence including available surveillance camera footage, but police do not believe any of the three wounded was the shooter.
