A house fire broke out Sunday morning in Logan Square, leaving a 36-year-old woman in grave condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
Fire officials responded to a fire in the basement of a one-and-a-half story frame home at 2526 N. Harding Ave. around 6:42 a.m. Fire crews resuscitated a dog at the scene, CFD said.
The woman was transported to Community First Medical Center, CFD said. She had suffered cardiac arrest, fire officials said.
CFD said the fire was extinguished and that the Office of Fire Investigation was looking into the case.
