Legally, employers don’t have to wait until the vaccines are fully approved to require them, “but some employers may think that optically it will be easier and better for morale if they wait until that occurs,” O’Donnell said.
“From my perspective, if you were at Lollapalooza, you should be masking and self-quarantining to keep other people safe, vaccinated or not.,” Dr. Marc Sala, a pulmonologist and critical care specialist at Northwestern Medicine, told the Tribune recently. “My take is that if you were at Lollapalooza, you have to assume you were exposed to (the virus) and should behave as such to protect those around you.”
The person was one of three people rescued from the crushed trailer just after 10 a.m. Wednesday, Winnebago County authorities told the weather service. The man was driving a Ford sedan when it struck a Ford SUV in traffic around 10:50 p.m. in the 9500 block of South Dorchester Avenue, at East 95th Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11 p.m., according to information from the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
According to the state, measures were taken to assure vaccine confidentiality is maintained. Users of Vax Verify will have to though a proof of identification process to sign in. The state is using Experian, a credit reporting company, to handle identity verification, and residents who have frozen their credit reports though Experian will have to unfreeze them, then wait 24 hours, to access the vaccination records.
“(Smith) wasn’t involved in a gang, but, unfortunately, it was just such a tough time for the kids. So we have really been supporting them as much as we can. So, we’ll be highlighting them,” Sengstacke-Rice said. “Also, we’ve been working with these teams to make sure that we keep peace in our community.”

4. Check the calendar for special days at the fair: While the fair starts Thursday, check out the calendar of events before heading to the grounds. Kids under 12 get in for free on Saturday, Aug. 14, veterans and their families get in free on Sunday, Aug. 15, and seniors over 60 get in free Monday, Aug. 16. Other special days, like Governor’s Day on Wednesday, Aug. 18, will likely draw a crowd, too.
