Adam Hollingsworth, who gained national fame and adoration last year attending protests and community events on horseback, wanted to call Lightfoot as a character witness. Lightfoot’s office last summer recruited Hollingsworth to be the “Census Cowboy” in a drive for census participation.
At the hearing, attorneys for the city painted him as just that — an attention-seeking officer willing to use profane and insulting language on social media and even file bogus case reports, without proper investigation, against the highest ranking department members, including then-superintendent Eddie Johnson for his participation in a 2018 peace march on the Dan Ryan Expressway.
Norris allegedly pulled out a gun and opened fire on the person, who was also at the amusement park, striking him three times — in the right side of the chest, the right shoulder and the right elbow, Berlin and Rivas said. Norris then fled, and was taken into custody at his home the next day, they said.

An officer also told police dispatch that police were going after the Nissan because they believed someone inside had a gun, even though police had only seen one of the passengers shrug his shoulder in a way that suggested he had a firearm, city attorney Jeff Levine told aldermen Monday. Police saw no gun, and Callaway’s family argued making that assertion was also reckless.
“Look this is what is going on, I’m trying to find out everybody whom (prosecutors) are trying to grab, and when they grab ’em I’m going to use them as my witnesses,” Spann told one associate in July, according to prosecutors. “I don’t give a f—- I’m already a step ahead of them.”
