One of the women was 49 and the other was 88 years old, according to preliminary information from the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Neither had been identified as of Sunday morning. One of the women was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to Amita St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in grave condition, but later died from her injuries, police said.

About 9:15 a.m. Monday, a 44-year-old man was inside a business in the 3800 block of West Division Street when he was involved in an argument with two people. He grabbed a bottle and he was shot in the chest. He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital where he later died, police said.
After being struck, the Mazda hit a Kia Optima that was headed northbound. The driver of the Optima, a 24-year-old man, refused medical treatment. Three adults, two men and one woman, who were passengers in the Mazda, were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
He was arrested Friday in the same block where he lives after he was identified as the person who hours earlier took a vehicle by force from a 21-year-old man, and also tried to take his belongings in the 1100 block of North Menard Avenue, police said.
Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday, the woman was driving in the 3400 block of West Jackson Boulevard when she suffered a gunshot wound to the head. She was taken in critical condition to the hospital, and no information about the circumstances leading up to the shooting were immediately available, police said.
