A year ago, Bills owners indicated they would not be renewing the lease on Highmark Stadium, which opened in 1973, until there was an agreement with state and county officials to aid the funding of a new stadium project. Highmark Stadium is the fourth-oldest NFL venue behind Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., Lambeau Field in Green Bay and Soldier Field, which opened in 1924 and has been home to the Bears since 1971.
Challengers said to be weighing bids against Lightfoot include U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley, Illinois state Rep. Kam Buckner, Chicago Teachers Union Vice President Stacy Davis Gates, Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson, South Side Ald. Roderick Sawyer, downtown Ald. Brian Hopkins and former city Building Commissioner Judy Frydland.
But that all comes after “another cool day for late March” Tuesday, “with gradually increasing winds (Tuesday) into tonight. There will be a chance for spotty light showers or sprinkles, and possibly even some ice pellets, mid- to late-afternoon into (Tuesday) evening. Then the chance for showers will sharply increase late (Tuesday) into Wednesday, with thunderstorms also possible,” according to the weather service.
The two officers are part of a tactical unit and were assigned to patrol the Harrison District which includes the West Side Lawndale neighborhood, police said in a statement. Around 9:15 p.m. those officers “were conducting a traffic stop” in the 3000 block of West Polk Street, officials said. Authorities did not provide a description of the vehicle that was stopped, the reason for that traffic stop or additional information about any alleged infractions.
“It was such a simple thing, but it changed the trajectory of my life,” she said. At first, her audience was her own three children, who are now in their 30s. She wanted them to see stories that represented their cultural heritage and faith tradition, she said.
“That’s what I mean by the politicization of this moment,” Soble said. “The Senate is not taking a thoughtful look at the body of work that these really incredibly diligent members, even the ones I don’t agree with, have conducted over the past three years, four years, more than that, going back, for some, more than 10 years.”

Sheriff’s police said they took a missing person report Friday from the victim’s mother, who told police her son had left their Orland Park home, on foot, Wednesday, and she called police after checking with area hospitals and local establishments her son may have visited. The coroner said the man lived in Homer Glen.
The College of Computing and Digital Media includes more than 5,400 undergraduate and graduate students, according to the university. It offers programs for computer science, cybersecurity, data science, game design and other areas. The college will be renamed the Eugene P. Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media, the release said.
“I saw my father serve the public for 30 years, driving the streets, taking the long way home, checking the lights, making sure stuff was picked up, taking calls at all hours of the night,” Lee said. “That’s what he did. He was not an elected official, but he was somebody in the ward, in our community, that people can look to.”
