During the pandemic, the Aon Center fell to fourth on the list of Chicago’s tallest skyscrapers, with the completion of the Jeanne Gang-designed St. Regis Chicago condo and hotel tower, formerly known as Vista Tower. The 101-story skyscraper is 1,191 feet tall. The Aon Center is 1,136 feet tall.

Built in 1928, the Cortopassis’ new house has been updated and has three full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, a living room with a marble surround fireplace, a family room with a wall of built-ins and two walls of windows, a back staircase, and a kitchen with newer marble countertops, a farm sink, top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, shutters and a breakfast room. The house also has a primary bedroom with a walk-in closet and a wall of closets, a primary bathroom with a cathedral ceiling and dual vanities and a fully finished lower level with a recreation room, a large laundry room and a wine room.

Platforms, which in some places are just over 3 feet wide, will double in width, and four elevators will make the station comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. A weather-protected, accessible walkway will help riders transfer between the station’s two platforms, and the work will improve the connection between the elevated lines and underground Red Line station on State Street.
