An Illinois State Police trooper was conducting a stop on a vehicle wanted in an aggravated battery with a weapon case early Friday on DuSable Lake Shore Drive when the car took off and led police on a chase that ended on I-55.
Shortly after 6:15 a.m., the trooper attempted to pull a vehicle over near Montrose Avenue when the vehicle fled. The pursuit proceeded on southbound DuSable Lake Shore Drive onto southbound I-55. The vehicle crashed at Pulaski Road and two people fled on foot before being caught, police said.
Both were arrested.
