Two restaurants robbed overnight in the Brighton Park and Ashburn neighborhoods, cops say

Chicago police said two restaurants were victim to armed robbers overnight on the Southwest sides in the Brighton Park and Ashburn neighborhoods.

The latest restaurant robbery happened shortly before 12:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 3900 block of South Archer Avenue. Three armed males entered a fast food restaurant and announced a robbery. The robbers took a cash drawer and robbed eight customers of their property, police said.

A 35-year-old employee suffered a minor laceration to his shoulder and was taken in good condition to St. Anthony’s Hospital.

Earlier Tuesday night, an armed male tried to rob a restaurant in the 3900 block of West 79th Street, police said.

Shortly before 9 p.m., an armed man entered the business and announced a robbery. A 35-year-old delivery driver struggled with the robber and was shot in the right leg, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was listed in fair condition.

No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
