A shooting Wednesday afternoon inside River Oaks Center in Calumet City has left a man wounded, according to a spokesman for the city.
Police responded just minutes after noon to a report of shots fired inside the mall, at the southeast corner of 159th Street and Torrence Avenue, and a man was wounded, according to spokesman Sean Howard.

The incident also left another person wounded, but not by gunfire, and that person was treated at the scene, Howard said.
The man who was wounded by gunfire was taken to a hospital but his condition was not immediately known.

Howard said Calumet City police entered the mall in response to what was believed to have been an active shooter situation and “searched every corner” of the building.
He said the shooting took place outside of a jewelry store in the mall.
“We are working to get our hands on whatever (security) video we can get,” Howard said.
