At least three gunmen opened fire on a group standing outside Wednesday morning, hitting a special needs man who was waiting on daily bus service, authorities said.
Shortly after 6:30 a.m., a 21-year-old man was outside in the 4700 block of South Wolcott Avenue with two other people when a group of three males approached on foot and started yelling, Chicago police said.

The group who approached opened fire, striking the 21-year-old to the head. He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital.
Alderman Raymond Lopez of the 15th Ward retweeted a post on Twitter Wednesday morning that gangbangers shot a special needs man while he waited on his daily bus ride.

Police said the shooters fled north on Wolcott. No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
