Let me add my name to the list of the last people wishing everyone a Happy New Year! As we head into Week 18, the final chapter of the NFL regular season, there’s still an incredible amount on the line across the league.

Several major outcomes remain undecided, including:

  • Four division championships: AFC North, AFC South, NFC South, and NFC West

  • The No. 1 overall seed in both the AFC and NFC

  • The top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft

  • Multiple playoff positioning scenarios

This week carries especially high stakes for the Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

In the AFC, the final postseason spot will be claimed by either the Ravens or the Steelers. The winner of the AFC North will also secure the No. 4 seed in the conference playoffs. Those two rivals will clash on Sunday Night Football at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.

Over in the NFC, the final playoff entry comes down to the Panthers or Buccaneers. The winner of the NFC South will grab the No. 4 seed in the NFC bracket. That showdown is set for Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET at Raymond James Stadium.

Meanwhile, the NFC’s top seed hangs in the balance in the NFC West. The Seattle Seahawks will earn the No. 1 seed with a win or tie against the San Francisco 49ers, while San Francisco can lock it up with a victory. Their matchup takes place Saturday night at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
