A 34-year-old man who was arguing with two women Wednesday morning at a residence in the Grand Crossing neighborhood opened fire wounding both women, one fatally, before turning the gun on himself, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 9 a.m., the man was involved in a verbal altercation with two women, ages 32 and 53, at a residence in the 7600 block of South Michigan Avenue, authorities said. The man pulled out a gun and opened fire in their direction, striking both several times in the abdomen, police said.
He then shot himself in the head.
Both women were taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine where the 32-year-old was pronounced dead. The man was taken to the same hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The circumstances leading up to the fatal attack were not immediately available.
