“It tells you, one, he’s working on his game,” Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said. “And two, it just shows that sometimes we just need time. Sometimes we want it to be instant. We have instant oatmeal, we have a lot of instant meals. But unfortunately, it just takes time. I played a long time ago, but when you look at what Ball has done, he works on his game, his craft, and sometimes we want it on Day 1.
