AARP Illinois Director Philippe Largent welcomed the change, saying, “The reform is a step forward in offering safe, high quality and equitable care to residents, and beginning to address the chronic problems in nursing homes that contributed to the death of more than 11,000 nursing home residents and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
