For those of you who like to indulge, Chicago’s dispensaries are sure to have a selection of cannabis products worth trying. Here are some Black-owned options to support.

Grasshopper Club (Logan Square)
The Grasshopper Club made history last year when it became Chicago’s first independent, Black-owned dispensary. Located in Logan Square, at 2551 N. Milwaukee Avenue, this dispensary is a family business. The Brewers, Matthew, Chuck and their mother Dianne are the co-owners of this proud establishment,’. The dispensary has a warm family feel to it and offers everything from flowers to infused pre-rolls and all the accessories you need.

Grasshopper Club (South Loop)
Setting a precedent for Black dispensary owners all over the city, the Brewers accomplishments have been nothing short of amazing. They opened their second location, at 58 E. Roosevelt Road on the south loop, only six months after opening the Logan Square location. The Grasshopper Club plans to get in on the 4/20 festivities, by teaming up with Riot Fest to give away $420 worth of goods, as well as tickets to see Cypress Hill on April 24, at Concordia Music Hall. Ivy Hall Damen (Bucktown)
During a push for social equity marijuana dispensaries, Ivy Hall, located on 1720 N Damen Ave in Bucktown, became one of the first dispensaries in Illinois with a majority Black ownership team, at 61 percent. Claiming to be the first sensory dispensary, Ivy Hall promises to create a unique experience, educating their customers, while offering top-notch cannabis brands. Sensory is a tool used to measure, analyze and interpret reactions to cannabis products via human perception. Currently, the dispensary is offering 25 percent off on all products in celebration of 4/20.

Spark’d (South Loop)
This dispensary is the seventh under its brand name, and the second of its kind in Chicago. Located at 2114 S. Wabash Avenue in the south loop, this dispensary offers a club-like vibe and feel, with colorful dim lighting and artistic cannabis displays. Led by majority owners, Black entrepreneurs and sisters Loretta and Priscilla Foster, this cannabis has Black girl magic sprinkled all over it.

Sway (Lakeview)
Sway, located in Lakeview and Boystown, is Chicago’s first dispensary with a LGBTQ+- and Black ownership team. Husbands Art Johnston and Jose Pepe Peña, who also own Sidetrack, a club located right across the street, have partnered with cannabis equity advocate Edie Moore and entrepreneur Kevin Hauswirth. The inside of this dispensary is colorful and vibrant, reflecting the spirit of the surrounding community. If you’re looking for a colorful and culturally diverse experience while shopping for your bud, this is the place for you.
