A line of showers and storms is expected to move across portions of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana Friday morning, National Weather Service officials said.
Some of the storms are expected to bring winds up to 60 mph and possible hail up to a quarter size. Periods of gusty winds up to 35 mph is expected with stronger storms, officials said.
More storms are expected to roll into portions of the area Friday afternoon, lingering into the evening hours. Officials said isolated tornado activity cannot be ruled out.
Current conditions at Chicago’s airports is overcast at 73 degrees.
Saturday, there is a slight chance of storms in the morning, but the rest of the day sunny conditions are expected with a high at 81 degrees for the annual Bud Billiken Parade.
