Former Chicago Blackhawks right winger Alex DeBrincat on Oct. 22 sold his five-bedroom, 3,700-square-foot house in Roscoe Village for $1.28 million.

A Michigan native, DeBrincat, who turns 25 on Dec. 18, played for the Blackhawks from 2017 until he was traded to the Ottawa Senators in July. He also has earlier ties to the Chicago area from skating for a year at Lake Forest Academy.

In Roscoe Village, DeBrincat paid $1.03 million in 2019 for the house, which was a total overhaul of an existing two-story house. The house has 3-1/2 bathrooms, hardwood floors, high ceilings, wainscoting, millwork, a family room with a gas fireplace and a kitchen with quartz countertops, Thermador and Bosch appliances, a breakfast bar, a built-in breakfast nook, a walk-in pantry and a butler’s pantry. The house also has a lower level with an additional family room with a wet bar and a wine refrigerator, while the primary bedroom suite has two walk-in closets, electronic window treatments, a large private terrace, vaulted ceilings with skylights and a marble bath with dual vanities.

The house also has a private rooftop deck over the rear two-car garage.

DeBrincat reaped a $250,000 profit on the house, but he also sold it for far less than he initially had sought. He first listed the home in July for $1.49 million and he cut his asking price in October to $1.44 million.

The house had a $22,924 property tax bill in the 2021 tax year.

Listing agent Mike Larson declined to comment on the sale.
