A motorcyclist from Elgin died Saturday morning following a three-vehicle crash in unincorporated Huntley, the McHenry Sheriff’s Office said.

The victim, a 41-year-old man whose identity hasn’t been released, was thrown from his cycle about 9:30 a.m. after a 71-year-old man driving a 2015 Subaru Forester failed stop at the Route 47/Conley Road intersection and struck a 2008 Mini Cooper S whose 17-year-old driver was waiting on southbound Route 47 to take a left-hand turn onto Conley Road, the sheriff’s office report said.

The Mini Cooper was pushed into the path of the victim’s 1997 Kawasaki VN800, which was northbound on Route 47.

All three drivers were transported to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, where the motorcyclist later died, the report said.

The investigation being conducted by the sheriff’s office’s Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office is ongoing. No information on possible charges or autopsy results have been released.
