The Chicago Bears’ first practice of training camp will be moved inside because of air quality issues, the team announced Wednesday morning.
The Bears are scheduled to hit the field at 10 a.m. but now will do their work inside the Walter Payton Center at Halas Hall.
Wednesday’s practice already was scheduled to be closed to the public. The Bears have nine open camp practices at Halas Hall that fans can attend with a free ticket.
Coming off a 3-14 season in 2022, the Bears are hopeful to make strides this year. General manager Ryan Poles talked Tuesday about the need to raise expectations and the team’s level of play.
“Great teams have high expectations and they go chase that,” Poles said. “That’s what we’re going to do and we’re going to do that in training camp.”
The Bears will have six camp practices before holding their first padded practice next week.
