A 21-year-old Chicago man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the Thursday shooting of an employee inside the Mariano’s grocery store in Evergreen Park.
Armoni Henry was taken into custody by the Chicago Police Department at his home one hour after the shooting, Evergreen Park police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the victim Friday as Jailene Flores, 21, of the 7700 block of South Hoyne Avenue, Chicago.
At 9:12 a.m. Thursday, Evergreen Park police arrived at the scene on the 2500 block of West 95th Street and found Flores with several gunshot wounds in the back of the store, police said.
Surveillance videos showed Flores walking away from Henry before the shooting, police said.
Henry was scheduled to appear in Cook County bond court on Friday.
