Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson received a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for making contact with umpire Tim Timmons during Monday’s benches-clearing incident with the Detroit Tigers, Major League Baseball senior vice president of on-field operations Michael Hill announced Wednesday.
“He’s playing to his huge talent and he’s producing huge, he plays defense huge,” Sox manager Tony La Russa said Tuesday. “You understand how much we missed him and Eloy (Jiménez) in the first half (because of injuries). Buckner, who previously worked in neighborhood and governmental relations for the Chicago Cubs, credited the Ricketts family for making it clear during negotiations over the proposed remodeling and expansion of Wrigley Field that, despite some discussion of other potential locations, remaining in the city was their first choice.
“I thought Justin did a good job in many ways, just keeping composed in that environment,” Nagy said of the rocky performance behind an offensive line that didn’t play well. “There’s things that I’m not going to get into in front of everybody as to why. Even as we’ve had more and more conversations, not just with coaches but players too, it’s good to hear some of the feedback that you get.

”I’ve been to multiple stadiums in the NFL and Soldier Field does not compete with any of them,” Shah, of Wheaton, said Wednesday, responding to a Chicago Tribune request for fan input. “On game days, the television crews show an aerial view of the stadium, which is beautiful, but the logistics are terrible.”
“When you go through a bad, ugly game like that, there’s a lot of emotions that come into play,” Nagy said. “There’s a lot of opinions that come into play, and that’s only fair. You have to be able to accept that. You’ve got to be able to have tough conversations, and I feel like that’s one of my strengths is to have a tough conversation individually, one on one. Sometimes with the group but also to be able to talk to the guys and say, ‘Hey, man, what’s the deal?’
Also, the Bears would be able to generate much more income from a new stadium than their deal at Soldier Field, which limits them to the revenue from tickets, concessions, stadium signage and the use of 4,250 parking spots. And unlike other NFL franchises that own their own stadiums, the Bears’ revenues are limited to the 10 home games played per season (including the preseason).
