The Bears have been leaning much more on their tight ends, and while it hasn’t resulted in pass production for those players yet, it’s a clear shift in strategy. That’s why it’s notable the team brought in five tight ends for a tryout Tuesday at Halas Hall: Alex Ellis, Daniel Helm, Ben Koyack, Nakia Griffin-Stewart and Carl Tucker.
“It just comes back to the team taking what we did collectively against the Browns and being like ‘We don’t want this to be who we are,’” Whitehair said. “And you can tell the mentality of the whole team, not just offensively, but the whole team changed after we go back into practice after the Browns game. And that’s what I’ve seen moving forward — a shift in mentality, the team taking just ownership of what we put out on the field. We knew it wasn’t good enough. You can tell on the practice field guys are more focused and ready to go.”
“I played with (Alex Rodriguez) when he was 19, and they have the same (bat) action, the same body, the power … it was impressive,” then-Cubs manager Dale Sveum said after Correa’s workout. “He told me to start working him away, and he starts throwing them into the seats in right field with a 20 mph wind (blowing in).”

Two months ago, when Fields scrambled and attempted a spin move on Miami Dolphins cornerback Nik Needham during the preseason, he was hit hard and fumbled, the kind of lesson a rookie quarterback ideally learns early and figures out how to avoid such missteps. Immediately after that game, Fields promised to remove that trick from his running repertoire, aware of how it put both his body and the football at risk.
BOSTON — Kiké Hernandez delivered the Boston Red Sox’s second straight walk-off win, scoring pinch runner Danny Santana with a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to send the Red Sox to the American League Championship Series with a 6-5 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night.
He traded away stars Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper in his first season to start a rebuild, which has showed only minor progress. After the Raiders went 4-12 in his first season, Gruden tried to make a push in 2019 in the team’s final season in Oakland by spending heavily in free agency and trading for star receiver Antonio Brown. But Brown was cut before the season after a series of run-ins with management, and the Raiders went 7-9.
“I’ve never remembered being in the bar where the bar was chanting,” said Flynn, a lifelong Bridgeport resident who has worked at the bar since she was 19. “The whole bar was chanting ‘Let’s go White Sox.’ It really gave you goose bumps listening to everyone. Everyone was really into the game,” said Flynn, now in her 60s.
