The Hawks smashed the 2000-21 Washington Capitals’ record of 350 minutes, 25 seconds without holding a lead to start a season. After the Hawks’ 6-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday night at the United Center, the new record stands at 360:57.
Now it’s become a Barclays Center issue. The arena was a meeting place for protester to gather in the wake of the George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Jacob Blake shootings last year. Those demonstrations attracted hundreds. Now, it’s where those against the city’s vaccine mandate head to make their presence known, albeit on a much smaller scale — according to reports, Sunday’s demonstration involved just a few dozen people.

After both teams scored touchdowns on their opening drives, the score remained tied at 7 until the Packers took the lead for good with 15 seconds left in the first half on Lazard’s 10-yard reception. Lazard, who entered the day with just 10 catches for 124 yards, had five receptions on that drive.
Free agents can start signing with any team on the sixth day following the World Series, and this year’s group includes Carlos Correa, Corey Seager, Freddie Freeman, Trevor Story, Max Scherzer, Marcus Semien, Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Michael Conforto and Kevin Gausman.

“If you were listening, you heard Femi say ‘What are you doing? What are you doing?’ He was not talking to the players or coaches. We actually had a fan who was trying to climb into the broadcast booth,” Sandusky said. “She said, ‘I’m a veteran and I’m looking for a drink.’”
