In addition to her daughter, Wehman is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard; a son, Richard Jr.; two other daughters, Mary Louise Kiernan and Karen Kennedy; three brothers, Quinn, Stratford and John; a sister, Charlotte Shea; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Still on the list are Dalton, wide receiver Allen Robinson, safety Tashaun Gipson, cornerback Jaylon Johnson, defensive linemen Bilal Nichols and Mario Edwards Jr., tight ends Jesse James and Jesper Horsted, inside linebacker Joel Iyiegbuniwe, running back Ryan Nall and wide receiver Isaiah Coulter. The Bears removed safety Eddie Jackson, right tackle Larry Borom and linebacker Sam Kamara from the list.
“As we prepare for the Playoff, it’s wise and necessary to put into place additional precautions to protect those who will play and coach the games,” College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock said in a statement. “These policies will better protect our students and staffs while providing clarity in the event worst-case scenarios result.”
In Libertyville, Leno paid $681,875 in 2018 for the house, which is on East Lincoln Avenue. Built in 1995, the house has three full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, a family room with a fireplace, a bonus room on the third floor, updated lighting, a kitchen with new stainless steel appliances and new granite countertops, and an in-law suite with a private bath on the second floor. The Lenos also recently finished the basement and recently fenced the backyard.
“That also has to be ciphered through emotions and frustrations from my voice. When I say things now, it’s not like being a player. It’s not like being in the front office. I am the manager and so if I walk up to (a player), I’m like, ‘What were you doing on that play?’ He’s like, ‘The manager hates me.’ No, no, I don’t hate you, we’re just trying to win. We’re trying to set up teaching moments.”
I have raised that question in recent weeks because if the Bears are in a full rebuild during the offseason, I’m not sure they will want to pay two pass rushers over age 30. Quinn does not have any guaranteed money remaining on his contract, but his base salary for 2022 is $12.8 million, and he has a $100,000 workout bonus, which would mean the Bears would need to move a super-hefty contract. In other words, they might not get a premium draft pick in return. Keep an eye on Khalil Mack and Quinn and wait to see if something happens to the front office and what moves the Bears make. There will be some clues in February and early March. But boy, Quinn has had a fantastic season and is on an absolute roll with 16 sacks, closing in on Richard Dent’s 1984 franchise record of 17½ sacks.
The NBA told the teams the priority is filling the ABC windows for Saturday’s games, which means the slots at 1:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Central. For now, those games, in order, would have the Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors at Phoenix Suns and Brooklyn Nets at Los Angeles Lakers.
“These are opportunities and experiences of a lifetime that you don’t get very many of as an athlete, and you might only get one,” said Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby, who won Olympic gold with Canada in 2010 and 2014. “It just might happen to fall in your window and if it doesn’t happen to work out, it’s unfortunate.”
“Whether it’s the flu or whatever he had, we were just taking real strong precautions with him,” King said. “The protocol following it to a ‘T,’ keeping him away from everybody. We do the same thing if there’s a guy with the flu or the ‘bad-shrimp syndrome.’ I don’t like them around the room … just in case it spreads, whether it’s COVID, flu symptoms or what have you.”
“For a lot of these college quarterbacks right now, this all kind of stems from the high school, it goes to college and the college trickles into the NFL with some of the stuff they do,” Nagy said. “I for sure think that you can see yesterday at certain times in the game that the tempo helps. You can’t necessarily live in it every play for certain reasons. But we can definitely do more of it. I think our players would agree with that. I think our coaches would. And you feel that. At the same point in time, we were moving the ball, too, without going no-huddle. So I think that probably more than anything yesterday I would say that five possessions in the red zone is where we’ve got to be better.”
